NSB Di6 diesel locomotive
The first unit entered Norway in 1996, but several heavy problems occurred during test service. The locomotive was not suited for the Norwegian conditions.
Diesel engine: MaK 12 M 282 L
> Some technical data:
> Number of cylinders: 12 in V.
> Bore: 240 mm.
> Stroke: 280 mm.
> Output: 2650 kW.
> Speed: 400 ^Ö 1000 RPM.
> BEMP: 20,9 bar
> Turbo pressure: 2,3 ^Ö 2,6 bar. To limit BEMP on 20,9 bar a computer
> controlled waist gate regulate the turbo pressure according to the inlet
> temperature. This system didn^Òt function well in Norway.
> Oil reservoir: 900 litres.
> Oil pressure and maximum temperature: 4,0 ^Ö 4,5 bar, 70 degrees centigrade.
> Cool water reservoir and temperatures: 1100 litres, 66 ^Ö 84 degrees
> centigrade.
