The first V63 (factory identification: VM15) locomotive: V63 001 in its original
white color. This locomotive now has been retired.
The V63 001 and 002 were manufactured in 1974 by GANZ-MÁVAG.
This first one had Siemens electronics and her maximum speed was 120km/h.
The original maximum allowed speed of the V63 002 was 160 km/h, but later
the whole gearing and electronics swapped with the V63 006.

V63 002! The date of the retirement can be seen on the sidewall of the
Gigant. Interesting feature of the picture, that the roof of the null-serie
and a "usual" Gigant can be compared.

This loco is from the "null serie" (V63 003-007). She is the first one in number
ing order
and still running. She has the "old style" trolley and bogie.
The bogie of the "null serie" is different from the others. Their bogie is
the same as the one used for the M63 class diesel engines. The maximal speed of
these
locos is 133km/h except the V63 106, which is geared for a maximal
speed of 160km/h.
